Accidentally deleted some dependencies and blank screen when loged in 04 September 2022, 18:10:11 Just to start off i recently switched from debian to arch and i like it a lot especially artix because it doesn't have systemd, it's fast and not resource intensive. But today i messed up, i was trying to set pipewire but then i gave up for today and i ran Code: [Select]pacman -Rcns pipewiretons of dependencies were marked which i thought was kinda weird, but thinking they were just pipewire's dependencies i typed yes and it deleted all of them (around 2GB together). Then i rebooted and i was greeted with a weird login screen and i couldn't login. After some investigating i reinstalled kde desktop and now when it boots it shows login screen and it succesfully logs in. The problem is just a black screen show up not panel, icons nothing, but browser autostarts and that all works ok, so everything works except the icons and the desktop. Does anyone have an idea what do i have to reinstall/ waht's responsible for this, display server maybe? and what are the default ones for artix kdeBest regards

Learnt this myself, fortunately just losing some programs and not an entire desktop You reinstalled plasma-desktop? Try with 'plasma', it has some extra optional dependencies that might help. Also if your sddm is working fine install another desktop, xfce lxqt etc, it will make your job debugging easier and serve as a fallback in the futureLE: Just out of curiousity, what went wrong with your pipewire? Did you install pipewire-pulse+wireplumber and started all three? Last Edit: 04 September 2022, 18:57:29 by Hitman

Re: Accidentally deleted some dependencies and blank screen when loged in Reply #3 – 04 September 2022, 23:25:13 Yep it worked, but it also installed some bloatware, i removed some of it, but for some unknown reason i can't remove some of them like kDiskFree i use Code: [Select]sudo pacman -Rns kdiskfree also tried yay and yaourtix but nothing worked and also went to details to find the real program name and typed that but also didn't work, any idea what's the problem?
Re: Accidentally deleted some dependencies and blank screen when loged in Reply #4 – 05 September 2022, 17:23:11 The package name is kdf. That's what you need to remove.
Re: Accidentally deleted some dependencies and blank screen when loged in Reply #5 – 06 September 2022, 16:28:39 Removed almost all of the bloatware, but now i just saw that audio and power settings are missing from system settings. Any idea how to reinstall that or where is that package?Best regards
