Installation to a new build

Hi,
I'm trying to install Artix to a new build. It's a Ryzen 7900X on a ASUS B650E-E board. I temporarily use integrated GPU via HDMI.
I downloaded yesterday's ISO (2023-05-15), Plasma + S6. It boots, there's shortly some graphics and it ends on the pure white screen with mouse cursor. I can switch to console (Ctrl+Alt+F1), I tried to login and do "startx" . The white screen blinks for a moment and that's all.

Thanks for help. Let me know what info you need. I use Linux ~14 years but I'm not hardcore admin.

PS: I used Chakra Linux for years but it does not exist anymore. I tried Void but their Live ISO comes with kernel 5.19 and I googled that the new Ryzens 7000 needs kernel 6.x. I also tried Nitrux where Plymouth refused to start.

If I'm not wrong, the integrated gpu of that new Ryzen platform is very new hardware wise and not that well supported, also unluckily this has been a period of inconsistencies from the part of KDE so this might contribute to the issue.

The quickest answer I can give you is get the LXQt ISO and use that desktop with KWin as a window manager, or try Plasma Wayland, but I can't help you with that because I couldn't get it to work either, it's quite young and it'll be the default later this year when they will release Plasma 6.0.

Thanks. The integrated GPU should be RDNA3 so the same as RX7900. I'm surprised since it's not that new hardware, it was released on late September 2022.

:) That's correct, but I still find myself having some rare sporadic display issues on my RDNA1 5500XT. While my previous Vega 570 had none of those issues. So you can see the maturity of gpu needed for the complete feature set so to speak, most things will work anyway but if you're unlucky some little thing will pop through like in your case.
Still, wait for updates, maybe this is known bug. I still have the faint conviction anyway that Wayland will just work for you.

Success. ISO lxqt-s6-20230515 works. I'm writing this post from my new PC and it's the very first post from this PC. Since LXQt looks fine and KDE apps are here I will give it a try. Let's see if I can live without Plasma.
I'm going to partition disks and install Artix now. I'll let you know tommorow.

So Plasma-Wayland does not work. I'd like to make work KDE/OpenBox but I have some issues:

- I can't even change color scheme, it simply does nothing

- after a few minutes of inactivity screen switches to that pure white screen with cursor and I have to restart X by Ctrl+Alt+Backspace.

OTOH, I succesfully configured keyboard, fstab and Arch repositories in pacman.conf
