how to stop pulse audio

i reinstalled artix cause i messed up audio
w hen i pasted the commandss to install pipewire it failled because it had a contflict with alsa so how dp i stup alsa so pipwire installs without  conflict and than  make dint start pipwire on bootup?

when  running sudo pacman -S pipewire pipewire-docs pipewire-alsa pipewire-pulse pipewire-jack
 i get

ooking for conflicting packages...
:: pipewire-alsa and pulseaudio-alsa are in conflict. Remove pulseaudio-alsa? [y/N]
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)

how do i do this

systemctl --user mask pulseaudio.socket --now
systemctl --user disable pulseaudio.service --now

I don't remember having to do anything to disable pulse when I switched to pipewire, just out of curiosity when pacman asked you if you wanted to remove the conflicting packages, did you hit 'y' or just hit enter?  Hitting enter would be a 'N' so the conflicting packages wouldn't be removed.

To answer your question you can disable a dinit service with this:

Code: [Select]
dinitctl disable <service>

This will show more command options:
Code: [Select]
dinitctl --help

You can find what the pulse service is called by looking in /etc/dinit.d/

As far as starting pipewire with dinit there's a few threads on this forum on how to do that, like this one:

it is because im using kde that i have to disable pulse audio it is very kde specific

when running dinitctl   disable  pulseaudio

lol maybe i should switch init system i read the tutioral thread understand nothing get headache

Did you check in /etc/dinit.d/ to see if there is pulseaudio service that needs stopping?

It could be that you just need to kill the pulseaudio program and then run the pacman command to install pipewire.

Personally I haven't had any trouble with dinit and I'm pretty inexperienced with much technical within linux.

Not sure what kde is doing to give you trouble, I haven't looked at kde in over a decade though I've been thinking about it.  Sorry I can't be of more help, maybe someone with experience in kde will respond.

if i have to reinstall i will but i just rdd pulse audio its pretty much fresh install al,most none of that reddit thread made since how to build package ? pipewire installed but im complete noob need  hekp understanding

will turnstile work with artix i dont know
i just reinstalled with openrx
