Use metatrader 4 with wine

I use metatrader 4 with wine, and after updates a day or so ago, it won't let me login.  It makes some kind of networking function calling to remote servers asking for my profile data or scanned server data.  (I presume it's something along those lines)  Then the program crashes.  The program operates fine so long as I don't login or scan remote servers.

I have tried, rm -rf .wine/ and reinstalling the program but doesn't cure the problem.

So, I know this isn't a metatrader 4 forum, and their help is geared towards windows users, and they'll just blame linux for the issue.  Which actually may be partially true.

So, I'm wondering if anyone knows what networking application/library/whatever was updated in the last few days that might cause such functionality to be gone?

Did wine itself update or you suspect a library did it?
In the latter case the easiest is to run it as a game with lutris and make sure it's not using system libraries, i think it's still the default, run it with different versions of wine until one works.
