Boot problems with Xbox Wireless Adapter

I'm using Artix Linux with runit, and everything is working great. The only problem I am having is when I have my Xbox controller wireless dongle plugged in, I have some strange occurrences whilst booting. On first boot, having it plugged in increases boot time by about 15 seconds. On reboot, I get this in dmesg:

Code: [Select]
[    7.734839] mt76x2u 1-4:1.0: ROM patch already applied
[    7.742060] mt76x2u 1-4:1.0: Firmware Version: 0.0.00
[    7.742062] mt76x2u 1-4:1.0: Build: 1
[    7.742064] mt76x2u 1-4:1.0: Build Time: 201507311614____
[   10.140898] mt76x2u 1-4:1.0: error: MCU resp evt:9 seq:1-0
[   10.140935] mt76x2u 1-4:1.0: error: MCU resp evt:9 seq:1-0
[   10.140977] mt76x2u 1-4:1.0: error: MCU resp evt:9 seq:1-0

Increases boot time by a few seconds.

On next reboot, it gets stuck and never boots, even when unplugging it whilst booting. After shutting down and powering back up, the first issue begins again. When I don't have it plugged in, everything works fine and there are no delays during boot, and subsequent reboots are completely fine. I have linux-firmware installed. This occurs on anything running runit, void linux iso, void linux, artix linux runit iso, artix linux runit

If I unplug the dongle whilst booting I get this (error attached here)

Looks like a buggy kernel driver for your controller, not much you can do until fixed upstream. You may help by reporting it there.
In the meantime, you may keep it unplugged until boot is complete.
