 It means you set it from the start to be valid a longer time. For me 3x 30 sec is kinda too much. It creates a bigger time window where things can happen. If you leave it for 30 s I don't think codes will be valid much longer than 30 s ± couple of seconds due to network delay. Didn't play too much with seconds setting so I don't catch my ears in there ultimately 😅

 Also you can play with the number of digits but didn't touch that either so I don't get a head ache but as a conclusion TOTP auth apps are pretty robust and reliable far better than 2FA via sms.
