SOLVED: falkon password manager doesn't work

Hello,
I'm trying out Falkon as a replacement for Librewolf.  The password manager does not work.  When I log in to a site, it doesn't offer to save the password, and I can't add entries to the password list manually.  It appears to work as expected when I downgrade to falkon-23.04.3-1-x86_64.   Any suggestions will be appreciated.

ldd falkon shows all satisfied.

$ /usr/bin/falkon -v

Thank you. Falkon now offers to save password for most sites but not for all.
EDIT:  I mark this topic as solved because in Void and AntiX, Falkon behaves the same, that is, it does not save passwords for certain sites.
