SSD LED is on when system is idle with 6.12.1 kernel

ssd led is too active on idle system with 6.12.1 kernel.
iotop didn't show anything suspicious. So I downgraded to 6.11.7 kernel. Now led activity is as usual.
Anyone else having such hyper-activity with 6.12 kernel?

Hello,

No issues on my side.
The topic you have started has nothing to do with dinit, though ...

As for the kernel, you could try to use xanmod kernel, just to see if it makes any difference.
Warning - you should be comfortable with compiling / installing a kernel, especially from AUR packages.

Hello,

As I said,
I have no issues with 6.11 kernel. Probably I need to wait/try another newer 6.12 kernel release to test.
And yes, dinit most likely has nothing to do here.
Anyway 6.12.1 kernel with its extra ssd interactions results in significant performance drop in my case.

That's why it would be interesting to find out if the Xanmod kernel behaves better with your hardware - the AUR link I gave you points to the 6.12.1 version of this kernel (  pre-built binary or even build from source ) which has some specific optimizations.
It might behave a bit differently with your hardware - for better or worse.
Since it creates its own entry in the grub boot menu, your current kernel is not replaced - meaning that it is safe to test it.

Also, you opened the topic on the dinit specific forum, which will limit somehow the visibility of your posts ...

You can try to install linux-zen from artix galaxy repos just to see if it is caused by 6.12 at all.

Here no issue too (xfce-runit).

I would try a clean install on an empty Partition: Just install + pacman -Syu + reboot, to see, if it happens there too.

I dont think it belongs to the 6.12.artix1-1 itself.

seems ok with 6.12-zen so far. Thanks for idea! :)
Still have no idea why 6.12.1 behaved bad. Going to stick with zen and see what happens.
Thanks everybody !

If you post your hw spec (if it's not private info) it might help get it fixed if some kernel dev searches and finds this thread, because presumably there's something that's affecting your system but not everyone's. There was something affecting some RAID arrays recently it seems:

Thank you.
Since it's not "mass destruction" case but rather hw specific I guess I'll let it go and wait for another fixed kernel release.
