Pipewire fails to read configuration file

pw-config outputs

  "config.path": "/home/eclipse/.config/pipewire/pipewire.conf"
}
but pw-top shows the quantum as 64, despite it being set as a different value in the aforementioned file. I've also tried editing the configuration file in other locations, to no avail. The issue affects the whole system; not just one user. Using S6.
