nm -applet wont let me connect to wifi, wifi connections are greyed out.

im trying to connect to my school wifi, so i have to add a wifi connection, but i didnt see an option in the wifi menu that came with xfce so i installed NetworkManager with the nm-applet. it doesnt seem to let me add a wifi connection as its all greyed out.

is there a fix for this?

Code: [Select]
rfkill

stupid question: networkmanager's service is installed, enabled and started...or?
