The problem is that developers are focusing their efforts in cloud. So I think systemd with its all shit will get stronger. I really hope no. I do really want to have alternatives. I really want runit, Openrc, s6, and other units get stronger as well. I still want the freedom to choose.

I also worried about Snap, Canonical wants to do in Linux what Apple and Google did in the mobile ecosystem. They want something like an app store and I really hope Canonical fails on that. It supposed to solve a problem but created a lot of worse problems. For example in Apple is almost impossible to install apps outside the app store and I cannot Imagine Canonical controlling what happens or not in the snap store.
