On XFCE openRC, brightness setting suddenly not giving effect at all

The brightness setting, on XFCE openRC, suddenly not giving effect at all, only  respond user GUI mouse click,
what package is brightness setting is in so it'll be updated ?

This very likely due to the /root directory accidentally got deleted as it happened next to then

Any correct idea to solve in shortest & simplest time & way?  thanks before

I don't understand, you're saying you can only change brightness through GUI?
What other way do you expect it to work that it doesn't work?

/root getting deleted doesn't have anything do with it.

who said so

was said that The brightness setting, on XFCE openRC, only  respond user GUI mouse click
it really did respond, as the slider responsively sliding left and right
but it's it
