CUPS server error while adding printer vis system-config-printer

Whenever I try adding printer via system-config-printer, I get the following error:
Code: [Select]
CUPS server error during operation 'Success'

(I am using OpenRC)

HP Printer

Do you have the hplip package installed ?
Because I've always had more success with my HP Deskjet using hp-setup to add the printer, than when trying to use the KDE 'Add Printer' tool.

Worth a try if you have haven't already ?

I have tried it, but I keep getting the error: No PPD found and yes, I have the hplip package installed

Is CUPS actually running ?

Have you had this printer working under Linux before?

If you run hp-setup without the GUI I believe you can supply the path to a valid ppd manually.

Maybe try using 'driverless printing' if your printer supports it.
