while fussing with my tv to help resolve an error with the power supply being insufficient and having bought the right wattage per volts power supply the lines on my screen are diminishing slowly and i run my monitor through the various installed desktops and backgrounds to help force the tv to resolve the lines.  i had a dozen lines i'm down to one very faint one after almost 3 days with the proper power supply.  point is i discovered the error in mate because of the tv's error that is resolving with proper power supply use.

It seems OK here when I tried that, it's probably hw specific, most likely graphics related.
