Anyone using network-manager with a light desktop flavors? Which iint system? 14 April 2024, 19:07:31 I'm trying to get Wifi screencasting to my big screen TV working on a light system, like LXDE or LXQT or XFCE. I'm not concerned with the disk space required, but performance under load is critical, as I run a must-have java app (running under Zulu 11) that eats up a lot of CPU cycles, and I run with a lot of browser tabs open as well. I'd be afraid KDE would be too heavy of an environment for my purposes. The app I need to do the screencasting is gnome-network-displays, and it requires network-manager as well as wpa_supplicant and xdg portals. If anyone else is doing the screencasting successfully with Artix, please tell me what init and desktop you are running?Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated.. Reply #2 – 15 April 2024, 15:20:35 I've used SimpleScreenRecorder to record videos from my computer's desktop, which I then uploaded to Youtube, but don't see a way to have SimpleScreenRecorder simultaneously broadcast whatever is displayed or playing via Wifi to my TV screen (which is a Samsumg smart TV).If it can do that, do you know of any how to or video instructions for it?Maybe, initially, I should just try it with Artix using OpenRC (since its the default) and the KDE desktop since it uses NetworkManager to see if it will work that way with Gnome-Network-Displays. I haven't used KDE in years, so its possible its been made more efficient. Quote Selected
