[SOLVED] Brightness Control is Broken After Update

After each boot following an update, the display brightness appears visually at 100%. I have to manually adjust it slightly to return to the previously set value. What is causing this issue and how can I fix it?

Install backlight-openrc or whatever your init.

I just use acpilight to adjust the brightness.

Thank you guys. The backlight-openrc service seems to be working. I was previously using xbacklight (which looks similar to acpilight), but I probably don't need it. I can control brightness, though my settings disappeared after the update. The backlight-openrc service solved the issue.
