Linux 6.15.2-5 locks the CPU up in some cases 12 July 2025, 15:04:29 Currently in the middle of debugging something that happens on my Framework Laptop 13 using the AMD 7840U APU. The issue is that some software will lock up a CPU core and eventually will lead to total lockup. This is not happening on current LTS (6.12.x). Tested software is LibreOffice fresh and DaVinci Resolve Studio 20.I am interested in sending this up to Arch / Linux LKML but I didn't do such a thing before. I mailed Arch Support to have an account on their SSO service in the meantime. It is advised to see if you can still run LibreOffice on your AMD setups, so that we may get more logs if things go south - or if you can spot other instances of CPU lockups, in a similar setup than mine.Just for the sake of completeness, I run Artix on a Framework Laptop 13 AMD 7840U with bios 3.09 and 64GB of RAM. I do have an encrypted (LUKS) partition, and I use BTRFS as a file system. I do use secure boot, rolling the keys myself through sbctl. I do use KDE Plasma 6.4.2, using Wayland, even if this shouldn't be the core issue. Quote Selected
