System not using integrated graphics anymore after empty battery.

Hello,

i am experiencing a problem with my system after the battery discharged on my laptop and when i turned it back on the grub screen reverted to the default one somehow, then SDDM login screen reverted back to default theme and i noticed that the system is very slow and cpu usage high because it't not using the integrated graphics and my second monitor isn't working. I've had this problem before but because i was messing with the nvidia drivers and it was my fault, but now i didn't change anything this happened just on it's own.

So first i tried doing a complete system update if it will fix the problem but it's the same probem, then i tried reverting mesa because i've had problems with it before, didn't work and then i tried reinstalling the intel graphics drivers and other packages and nvidia but again nothing worked.

I also have to note that the system clock is also messed up, laptop has a rechargeable rtc battery so i don't know how this happened.

Would really appreciate some help or ideas ehat happened and how to fix it.

Also when the system was working the utilization of the graphics was showing in btop but now it isn't.

Best regards

Check/replace the bios battery and then check/update the bios settings; something must have been reset there.

I replaced the battery, the bios settings and clock are now saving, but the grub and the os still aren't working correctly, something got messed up after it lost the battery power, i guess the only option is to back up the data and reinstall the os?

Ok so i have a usb drive where i have the iso burned to boot from and install new os, but at the options when i boot from this usb i also get efi bootloader, so i chose that and it give me the original grub screen i had before and when i booted into my os this way now everything works normally again?

But if i boot from the normal grub menu the os is not working correctly, so whats the problem, i'm confused, now the only way that i can boot to the working os is by using the external usb with the os, chosing efi bootloader from there and then booting.

Any idea how to fix this, is the efi bootloader somehow saved on the external usb and how do i move it to laptop memory?

Best regards

To find and modify efiboot use command efibootmgr.
