Telegram segfaulting

Hi,

I've not been able to use Telegram desktop for the past week due to segfault. Usually it's just because QT update or what ever so I just wait for the next update. It has updated now but still segfaulting. Any ideas?

You might check upstream for issues.

As an alternative there is ayugram-desktop in the omniverse repo.

Thanks for suggesting ayugram-desktop. I'll definitely try that, but it's also crashing with same segmentation fault...

Are you perhaps using fcitx5 as input method?

EDIT: more details on why I'm asking this.
Recently, after the Qt 6.10 update, I've also started noticing some programs crashing. This issue here addressed the problem to the use of fcitx5, but it has now been fixed by Telegram (check if you are on the latest version). However I'm still having segmentation fault on other programs related to Qt, such as Featherpad. I don't know if this is related or not to your issue. If it is not, I'll open my own thread to discuss this problem.

I am not using fcitx5. I also tried unsetting QT_IM_MODULE, but no joy.

Here, Telegram does not start at all.

Yep, also qbittorrent. So I guess a bunch of qt apps..

I have the same problem. and it's not universal. There's something in my setup that causes qt6ct to segfault under x11 (still works unders wayland).

I haven't found the source of problem.

Are you using xlibre?

I have the following env var:
Code: [Select]
QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt6ct
unsetting it fixes the issue, but of course now all qt apps look like trash.

Setting "Style" in qt6ct to "qt6gtk2" causes the issue for me. When I set it to "fusion" the issue goes away.

I can confirm the same issue as well with other programs that use QT (e.g., RetroArch). Switching from the package supplied by galaxy to aur for qt6gtk2 fixed it for me.
