what gadget or applet does Moksha use for a mixer?
Moksha has a number of modules/gadgets built-in; one of these is the Mixer module, which has a hard dependency on Pulseaudio.
It's Moksha/EFL specific, so cannot be used for - nor simply ported to - other DE's.

I don't see a gadget for a mixer. Please advise
The Mixer module is part of the Moksha code base, but to prevent problems with non-Pulseaudio setups it's in a separate package now.
So you need to install moksha-module-mixer, enable/load it via the settings/extensions and then add it to the panel.
I need to clarify this better in the wiki.

So if i use pipewire what do i do?
For a systray applet two options are volume-icon and pasystray (assuming pipewire-pulse is installed)
As mixer application pwvucontrol (https://forum.artixlinux.org/index.php/topic,7390.msg44519.html#new) can be used, but also pavucontrol.

where is volume-icon?
pasystray does not show in shelf contents.
It's not volume-icon but volumeicon; my mistake.
pasystray requires pipewire-pulse when running pipewire; has that been installed? If needed I can setup and test.

pasystray and pipewire-pulse show in htop...
but not visible in shelf
I'll test and get back to you tomorrow.

Tested with pipewire and pasystray. The pasystray icon is shown in the systray and controlling the volume using the scroll-wheel of the mouse works fine.
If any program does not work as it should then start it from the terminal to see if any errors are reported.
For more sound control options you can install eg. pwvucontrol.

Does not close. No icon. Please advise.
That warning can be ignored.
Please provide details/screenshots how you set up the Icon Theming in Moksha settings.
Also, on the left hand side of the systray there is a small with '<' icon with which the systray content can be shown or hidden; did you try that?
Also provide a screenshot of the systray.
And a screenshot of the shelf contents; right-click on the panel and click on 'Contents'

The shelf contents and the systray
As you can see, I don't see a <
I don't know I did that, but I'll show you whatever I have or set it otherwise if you like
The icons are Enlightment-x with all three boxes checked
The right screenshot shows the systray gadget/module as 'Available Gadget', so not yet as 'Loaded Gadget'. Loaded implies Enabled in this context.
So you must click on 'Add gadget'.
Then right-click on the panel, click on 'Contents' and then click on 'Systray' and the 'Add gadget' button.
For more info go to menu item: Applications / System Tools / Moksha Quickstart which opens Moksha Quickstart as link to a installed, localized html page.

Please check the pic again. systray shows as loaded gadget fifth from top, yes?
falkon is borked for me. no visual, but it launches
if systray is loaded then it only needs to be added to the panel as explained
artist
please examine the pic again. the systray is pictured at the bottom
Did you try things like:
- moving contents
- changing the style to eg. 'alternate' and back to 'default'
- a new profile, or setup as a new user?
This is how it should look:

imgur hates VPN's, so i cannot see it. but I change the style to default and it looks like this now

the "<" is visable and open in the pic
but no volume icon
Please advise...
There is this firefox extension, I use it in librewolf : https://libredirect.github.io/.
For example this is Artist's link https://rimgo.totaldarkness.net/a/jZCWHel.

Maybe the systray cannot expand because of the icons to its left.
Try moving the systray to the left of the right-hand icons, so it will always have space to expand to the left.

apparently i have to start volumeicon? it showed after launching it. Where should I put it's start? .e/e/applications/startup/startupcommands?
Just check https://wiki.artixlinux.org/Site/MokshaDesktopForArtix#Startup_Applications

That instance works for me.
You may need to change scraper (if there are more) or instance.
