Can't visualize properly after lockscreen and monitor 'sleep'...

When I try to login after some minutes of no pc's use, screen comes black and I cannot visualize anything, neither if I digit on the keyboard. So, I have to push the power button of my pc and turn it on again to have the possibility to enter in the system as usual.
After this happen, during the boot some issues are listed but I can't find the journal for the boot.
Is there anynone that can tell me where I can find the journal?
