[SOLVED] Cinnamon DE 6.0 Wayland supported

Hi friends,
I recently read that Cinnamon DE 6.0 is now supporting Wayland.
Currently I'm running Cinnamon 6.0 on Xorg and i'd like to switch from X11 to Wayland.

[xcbiker@sergio-artix ~]$ ps -e | grep tty
 1103 tty7     00:00:14 Xorg

Is there any guidance to do that ?
Thanks for helping!

In Plasma the default login manager is SDDM.
If one wants to use wayland there, one needs to select the Wayland session in the bottom left corner.

Before you try that, make sure that you have all the wayland packages installed.

I do not have better adivce sadly

Hi, i did the switch from lightdm to sddm by disinstalling lightdm and installing sddm. Service for sddm was not enabled, so i had to enable it in runit. As soon as the service started, the login manager page showed up and the Cinnamon Wayland (Experimental) option was selected by default in the session's drop down list.
I played around for sometime using Wayland on Cinnamon, but i noted some glitches and oddity at least in the way Wayland is integrated into Cinnamon: for example: Windows' shadowing null or very light despite the extension setting, or mouse pointer changing scaling despite the automatic scaling option was not activated.
In the end i decide to roll back to X. Maybe i will move to sddm+cinnamon wayland at the first stable Wailand compatible release of the DE.

I am glad that I could help in some way.
I am sure that there is a way to choose sessions in other DMs than SDDM, but I do not know them.

Now you see why it's called experimental :ddd.
As far as I know, Mint (so basically Cinammon) were very resistant to add wayland support, so it's not a surprise for me that it's in a rough shape.

I am sure that some day they will make Wayland the default and then I suggest you try the Foot terminal emulator.
Its blazingly fast and works only on Wayland.
