external monitor not detected after kernel update & reboot

I just did a global upgrade, working on an external 4K display as usual.
After reboot, this display is no more visible or usable: Not detected!

I am using LTS kernel :
uname -r
5.4.84-1-lts

running xrandr only list the laptop's display.
When I plug in and out the USB plug, signal  is still detected (I can see the blue led).

Someone have hints on troubleshooting this issue?

downgrade fix your problem? can you try newest kernel 5.10 from testing? 5.10 is new LTS too.

I tried non LTS kernel = 5.9.14-artix1-1 => same issue.
So I will try with downgrade prior to jumpign to testing

thanks for the answer

Ok, I tried booting on a live USB, on an 2019 artix image, there is the same problem.
So apparently it is the HDMI plug that must be dead. It happened all of the sudden, after a reboot.
But It always happens all of the sudden. That's the way it is.
So it is not about the kernel, it is about the HW.
