What is the current state of package updates?

What is the current position on package updates? Is build system now working? Have mirrors changed? (per news item). Are we going to see more packages in line with Archlinux(tm)?

Any package I have tried today from AUR fails its signature check and therefore will not build.
Any ideas?  I looked for an AuR keyring or something that validates the signatures but did not find any.
