Artix website and download doesn't seem very privacy oriented

Don't get me wrong main reason how i found out what systemd is is website nosystemd.org or something and they said systemd sets google dns by default and why that happened is because i wanna escape from google when i browse internet or use computer. I know they're everywhere.
However Artix is amazing distro and requiries google recaptcha to register (some moderator from irc registered me here). Now artix .iso is on sourgeforge, that has tons of google advertisements.

Not saying that something is wrong with Artix itself, but there are crazy people out there like myself who don't like google recaptcha. I avoid google at all costs... ;)

Setting your own dns servers and blocking all google with iptables or something may be your ticket.  You can hardly browse anything on the internet without some google-engine being in there.  Use noscripts plugin is one way, I also use ublock-origin and I don't get to see most of ads.

Yeah, it sounds great what you posted
Setting own DNS up sounds like a brilliant idea. I have also wanted to create my own e-mail server, i mean to have my own e-mail on my own server but i don't know how...

I used GNU IceCat browser before, version 56 and it was great, however here on Artix Falcon is quite alright i also used Tor but i am not sure if Tor Browser is that secure...

We've got no control on Sourceforge, they were just hosting our ISOs until recently  (and they somehow have to pay their bills too). We've added the google recaptcha because of a recent spam surge in the forum. Oh, well.

Why google exactly. Is it the only choice??

I remember some websites had things like third letter of name of this distrubution is:... and custom captchas, no google.
I wouldn't have anything against google recaptcha if everytime i fill the form, pc i use speaks to their servers.
What put me off from systemd was

and... because of that i decided to not bother with systemd distributions. I feel one of these principles of systemd-free distros should be stay out of corporates, contribute to open-source don't use proprietary service and don't let corporates mine data about you ;P.

I know it's forum related not Artix itself, so i apologise for this. I am aware that google recaptcha may be one of the easiest options and most convenient. I have no idea what issues with bots this forum had before. Isn't it possible to create custom captcha.
Goddamn if i had some knowledge about computing and coding i'd love to write custom recaptcha for forum, and build pkgbuilds but well... :/

Not my place to answer this but I would imagine if money wasn't the problem for server space there would be more choices.  And it is not just money but time spent maintaining a forum.
Once you register and are logged in you can block google and the forum still works, I think!

Just use NoScript  ;)

"In its terms of use, SourceForge states that its services are not available to users in countries on the sanction list of the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria). Since 2008 the secure server used for making contributions to the site has blocked access from those countries. As of January 2010 the site had blocked all access from those countries, including downloads. Any IP address that appeared to belong to one of those countries could not use the site. A month later SourceForge relaxed the restrictions so that individual projects could indicate whether or not SourceForge should block their software from download to those countries."
Compared to some other US sites SourceForge is (potentially) more generous in who can access it, presumably it's ads help pay for that independence. So it has some good points.

I should add that sourceforge is in the business for making profit not serving a social cause.  To make profit they have to use all the users as contributors to lure in downloaders who are a market.  The countries blocked in a way, even though large in population, are insignificant markets for advertisers.  Especially Syria and N.Korea.  But contributors may jump ship to another free server that doesn't block anyone, so it is a give and take decision for them.  MS didn't buy github to profit from advertising, they have other plans.
It also just so happens that some of the countries blocked are also blocking certain access to the internet, so tor has become a common tool there.  Then the exit IP is most likely (if not always) from a country that is not being blocked.  Here come cloudservers though, blocking their daily list of exit nodes ...  what a mess .... restrictions create.

But this shouldn't be confused with distributions like artix, obarun, void, ... etc. who have to make ends meet without advertising and provide us with free server access.  In void the person who for years was donating and managing the forum gave up in covering the cost alone and the resource has vanished for more than 40days.

Yeah, business it's all about business...

Game makers nowadays, companies like Blizzard who created Diablo and world of warcraft, or mmos that i used to play in the past like runescape Tibia, they don't care about making good games anymore but about making profits.

I hate this attitude. They generate millions or billions or trillions dollars revenue and they still want more!! Its same with red hat i am pretty sure systemd for business and profits not for user.
This is very crap, i am disappointed, there are games out there that i really liked in the past but because companies wanna generate more money not have better game. These online mmorpgs would be better without updates.  The result of this business related steps is the game losts its soul that it once had, and every person who plays these soulless games, become soulless too.

And stupid american people who play them only judge the game by content they get, if the game doesnt get content its crap if it does its good game. American people and others spend their life time to play the game that gets content with every update, they dont question anything else. When they turn the game on they only ask themselves: Is this game getting any content??
Then players use themselves, kill their eyes and back so these companies who give content for players can generate more millions or billions or fking gadzillions... I am sick of this attitude of companies... And there's esport thing, now every game company tries to get into this to make more money thanks to people who spend their lifetime to play them and become PRO GAMER. Then become a streamer and stream on multibillionairie amazon owned twitch.tv and stream your gaming while streaming on internet exist thanks to porn industry. Great. Beg people for donations, create youtube channel, become a whor**** for views and followers
It is very selfish.

Same with wikipedia asking me for 2 dolalrs to pay for servers, why they can't ask billionairies, im not rich  ::) . I understand if somebody wants to make profits, but if somebody wants to make too much profits and it hurts the customers too it's wrong :/.

I was about to make a thread for this but this one seems fitting.
I like having torrents available for iso's  and while Artix now offers them on the home page the site it links to has some bad ads and tracking while only offering a simple torrent hash, something that can be problematic for a torrent that doesn't have loads of people seeding it.

So I wanted to ask if it would be possible to "host" the torrents directly on the site, all it would need is a torrent client as the initial seed and a good selection of public trackers to have a good spread.

which site do you mean that has bad ads and tracking?? is it sourceforge?? if it is, then yeah i agree with this.
i am not fan of downloading stuff from there.

also i would like to notice that google recaptcha is spreading like a virus. i usually never fill it on certain websites, if i can't use somethin on website, register without recaptcha or login or download something i try not to, usually never do.

i think having google recaptcha on the website is not professional. what i done is i went on #artix irc channel on freenode, and there was somebody who said he is a moderator, so he registered me to the forums and i didn't need to fill anything.
i read on internet about web crawlers or stuff like this, it sounds so creepy, like parasites coakroaches.
