The s6 implementation on Artix doesn't really work like that gentoo page (for instance s6-svscan is the stage two here). What that gentoo page is describing is a fairly technical overview of how to implement parts of the init cycle yourself using execline/s6. I mean you could do that, but you don't need to. The author of s6 created s6-linux-init (which Artix uses) so you don't have to go through all that mess on linux systems. It compiles and creates binaries precisely for this role. You shouldn't be messing with any of these (of course).See this skarnet page for some more details. 1 Likes
