Arch KDE to Artix OpenRC Migration; Can't Login

Hello and thanks for the help in advance. I've attempted my due diligence but I'm kinda stuck and could use a nudge in the right direction.

As stated above I more or less successfully migrated to Artix OpenRC from Arch KDE. I get to a basic looking authentication screen that has the hostname at the top of the box and fields to input username/password. When the credentials are incorrect I get an error. When they're correct the screen turns black and goes back to the authentication screen. TTY (ctrl+alt Fx) works and allows me to login as root and my non-root user. dmesg and various logs aren't yielding any hints. open-rc --status (I think) showed that a couple misc services like SAMBA aren't starting and grub doesn't point to my windows boot manager but those are something unrelated that I can work on later (I think).

I have two striped NTFS HDD's labeled as "storage" that I share between windows and linux that's set to automount in fstab. It was squared away in arch but I also followed LVM steps in the migration wiki.

Am I potentially looking at a polkit/consolekit problem? Thanks again in advance.

Also, I don't know if this is significant, but as root I issued a reboot command which caused all the TTYs to freeze but nothing else. I hit the power button on my desktop and saw some text output about a "shutdown command from root" or something to that effect and it safely shutdown.

OK so I randomly punched in sddm into the terminal figuring that's probably the default I pulled over from arch and it worked. I have a bunch of other stuff to do like figure out why I have 3 loop back devices and no sound etc but I think I'm good to go.

While this thread is open can someone explain what was going on? What was that super simple login prompt I saw? I can provide a pic.

I have no idea, but similar situations involved deleting the package cache and reinstalling everything to ensure all your packages are Artix versions, and there may be some new config and new services that need enabling, probably you have done this. Welcome to Artix! Glad you fixed it OK.
