I brought in duktape because it's a dependency for openrct2. But I don't think it's actually required anymore, as it's bundled with the project now. So I guess the real reason I brought it in was because an Arch maintainer didn't realize the dependency was no longer necessary. Go figure.

rubber bands perish quite quickly, but a move to gaffer tape would build in some hard resilience.
