artix won't mount a partion from another artix install? what the what?

The image you booted from was probably created without ext4 support.
If you boot from the fallback image then mounting ext4 should work.

i installed to an nveme drive thats in a usb enclosure with f2fs with the automated options to take up all 500 gb

The image you booted from was probably created without ext4 support.
If you boot from the fallback image then mounting ext4 should work.
