Locked topics

When a topic is locked a big lock symbol is placed on the topic. That should be removed from the forum, if it is possible. I think it just encourages more trolling and it would be better if the topic was just silently locked without explanation. That does more, I think, to suffocate the trolling, which is the objective.

FWIW, and I have both moderated lists and forums and been kick off more than my share of them, I would not allow meta discussions of moderation actions.

Moderators aren't perfect, and truthfully, they don't have to be. They just have to be effective to keep conversation polite and rigorous for the purpose of the forum. They don't need to get everything right, as if that was possible.
