Display not detected through internal KVM

I recently got a new monitor which isn't being detected by my desktop or laptop. Both connected successfully once but failed to do so again or at the same time. This has rendered my desktop effectively non-functional. The monitor works fine when I boot the desktop into win10. Plugging the monitor's USB-C cable into the laptop brings up a prompt asking if I want to change to the USB-C display input, leading me to believe the issue is with my desktop and laptop. Laptop-side, it only reports the addition of a power supply. xrandr and dmesg report no change. I have tried rebooting the laptop with the display disconnected, with it connected, with it off, with it on, and so on. No success.

OS: Artix Linux, s6
Display: Dell U2723QX
Desktop:
- Window Manager: dwm, X11
- Graphics card: GTX 980ti
Laptop (Lenovo T14):
- Window Manager: emwm, X11
- Graphics card: AMD Cezanne Radeon Vega Mobile Series

I wasn't sure if I should ask this in Applications and Software or Hardware. It is video but it is related to hardware.

As I can see that monitor has HDMI and DisplayPort inputs. Did you try them?

Plugging the monitor's USB-C cable ...

KVM = ?

Before you insert the USB-C cable of the monitor anywhere, you should first read this .
