Nvidia update problem

Nvidia update problem

Code: [Select]
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

:: installing nvidia-utils (570.153.02-1) breaks dependency 'nvidia-utils=570.144' required by nvidia

In repositories:
x86_64   world                   nvidia-utils             570.153.02-1    NVIDIA drivers utilities

x86_64   lib32-gremlins   lib32-nvidia-utils   570.153.02-1    NVIDIA drivers utilities (32-bit)
x86_64   lib32                    lib32-nvidia-utils   570.144-1         NVIDIA drivers utilities (32-bit)

Maybe we should update version in lib32 to gremlins?

The 64 bit package got pushed out of gremlin just yesterday, probably (hopefully) it won't take long for the same for the lib32 gremlin, is there anywhere to check what changed? besides the commit
batteries included

Looks like the lib32-nvidia-utils got updated but nvidia and nvidia-open are both still behind, looking at the package list it looks like it's still in gremlins, although the dkms drivers seem to be up to date.

I think the problem may go beyond lib32-nvidia-utils.  Regular nvidia-utils is on 570.153.02-2, but nvidia is on 570.144-5.  Arch repositories have the 570.153.02-2 for nvidia, but that version is still listed under gremlins for Artix, while Artix upgraded on almost all nvidia related packages besides nvidia itself.

I think the solution is just to push nvidia up.

The question is it worth it to use gremlins in the meantime.  My system is stuck in 768p in the meantime.  I was dumb, and or smart.  I needed to get my system updated so I could install new software so I uninstalled nvidia because all the AI stuff I've got just uses the various support libraries.  But I can't get nvidia back on my system until it agrees with nvidia-utils.  After reboot that affects display.

Maybe I just go around the package manager all together.  I don't actually want to do that.

Ok.  I got myself to a good place.

Uninstall nvidia.  Reinstall nvidia-dkms (which is on the right version).

I have the same problem. My system works fine though. Can I just wait until it is fixed?

I'm updating like this for now:
Code: [Select]
pacman -Syu --ignore nvidia-utils,lib32-opencl-nvidia,libxnvctrl,nvidia-settings,opencl-nvidia,lib32-nvidia-utils
but you may have other packages installed related to NVIDIA, so the list of packages to be updated should not include packages with versions 570.144 and 570.153 (they will also need to be ignored until everything is fixed)

I ran pacman -Syu and it fixed itself.

Yes. Nvidia packages in repositories have been updated to one version
