[SOLVED] the last batch of updates killed my eso - dxgi error

the launcher runs ok but when i press play to lauch game i get Unexpected Fatal DXGI Error: Error Code - -2147467259.  this is a game from steam that runs under proton 9.04 or it did.  now it doesn't.   not sure what changed.  runs under windows just fine..  Linux is obv my preference.

I think this may be due to the broken Mesa 25.1.1-3 update, have you tried downgrading (pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mesa-1:25.1.1-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst) or updating to 25.1.2 (which seems to have been released a few hours ago?

yes it's still broken.  It's sabbath now so it'll have to wait.  ty.

my bad.  it works.  i uninstalled 9.04 after switching tio a different poroton version then redownloaded  proton 9 and all is well.

Try older wine 10.8 version. It seems there are quite a bit of regressions due to EGL support being introduced in 10.9
