Levering censorship for gain

https://petapixel.com/2025/07/28/you-must-now-be-18-years-old-to-create-a-new-flickr-account/

On Flickr you will now have to be a paying member to see age restricted content. In truth there was very little unless I suppose you actively sought it out, and wasn't anything you wouldn't see in a newspaper or tv ad judging from the one or two age restricted pictures I randomly encountered, but doubtless it will be annoying to be blocked in future. Also if a group contains age restricted material, even if it is only one photo, the whole group can become restricted, it certainly has been the case in the recent past to see this happen.

It's a double edged sword this gatekeeping, good intentions on paper but in practice at least some profiling will be done :)

Everything 18+ (or "of age proof") will need ID. It's just a matter of time.
Australia's Digital ID and Human Verification system, facilitating Labor's eSafety laws, will primarily use AU10TIX's AI for verification, the same firm Elon Musk used for Twitter. Spotify will use Yoti. Youtube will ban every youtube account that's below 16 YO (In Australia), moreover they'll use AI to profile US users next week if they are 18+. SoundCloud doesn't let you listen to music without account anymore. Even fucking Kiwifarms got hit with this, just go there and look for the thread with UK's OFCOM email. Steam (and many gaming adjecent platforms) will remove a lot of games, this is because of Visa and MasterCard, but it's probably way more related to this Digital ID/OFCOM shit rather than feminazis being the crux of the matter.

It's a global effort and we either will enter golden era of piracy next or we will literally lose our freedoms.

It's just more cruelty and oppression from the sadistic slave masters finding new victims to amuse themselves with, obviously post-pubescent adolescents who cannot pursue physical relationships might want to look at certain harmless images formed from pixels displayed on a plastic screen occasionally due to having the same physiological impulses as over 18's. Remember there's no reason governments can't just say, sure, we'll try and give everyone what they want as far as is reasonably possible so long as it's not hurting anyone else. Just because we get used to them banning things that people enjoy all the time doesn't make it right.

Not really surprising. As unfortunate that statement is. One only need to look through history. People were, are, and will be complacent. That and have been becoming more "malleable".

Back when pre-elon ownership days. No one did much against twitter. Parler tried to, but had gotten shut down. And then during the pandemic people did nothing noteworthy. In fact some people were gleefully defending the draconian lockdowns. Calling you names or crazy if you display even the tiniest bit of criticism. Even though the very nature of science is being skeptical and not religious-level of blind faith and zealotry.

It'll get even more worse unless people from the countries (UK, AUS, USA, CA, etc.) of which are directly affected do something. I'd like to, but unfortunately I'm not from within those said countries. I doubt anything will happen. It makes me wonder what the 2nd amendment is even for.

"Fun" fact: V for vendetta seems to almost be like a documentary at this point.

Forgive the rant, but I'm pissed as hell. Even more so that I can't do anything directly about it. If there's a time that I could be proven wrong I could really use that time right now.
