Re: New forum theme Reply #15 – 26 August 2025, 02:14:29 The new default is not what I expected, as the auto option seems to be the default which gives the light not dark variant, at least for me, and it seems quite a drastic change indeed. Link certainly bookmarked! Quote Selected

Link certainly bookmarked! well it's controlled by your browser, so...Some privacy-focused browsers (such as Tor Browser) always indicate light theme is preferred to make fingerprinting harder. Perhaps this is your case? Quote Selected
Re: New forum theme Reply #17 – 26 August 2025, 14:25:08 It's on auto on Waterfox. I don't want to change every other website though, and there's no way to apply it for just one site. "Silence" had no light version, so was always dark regardless of any other settings. The only thing I found that might help is an extension called Dark Reader but it makes pages load slowly. The color scheme doesn't look even vaguely how it did before, so can't really be described as a modified variant of the original default! But if everyone else likes it that's fine, the dark theme just seemed to be a distinctive Artix feature to me, in contrast to most other distros. Quote Selected

Re: New forum theme Reply #24 – 27 August 2025, 15:40:41 In Waterfox and doubtless Firefox too, if you go to settings - general - language and appearance - website appearance and change it from the default "auto" to "dark" it will switch. But it will force every other website with an option to go dark as well. Auto will use your own OS theming to make a choice. The light theme isn't in line with any other Artix theming on other resources, past or present, which is strange given that Cory was saying in the interview how he was working on making the appearance of the sites more consistent! And unless you have non-standard dark settings or theming applied universally, it will default to the light option. Quote Selected 1 Likes

I was referring to having a consistent color palette, which is true. Silence had a lot of dark greens and dark blues, which didn't match our other sites' various shades of cyan. This is the third site I've tackled, the other two being our gitea and packages web. You'll notice that packages web does in fact have a light theme. Gitea doesn't, but perhaps it will in the future.I will always consider the dark themes to be the main ones but I also think that serving up a light theme to someone who prefers-color-scheme: light is the right move. Re: New forum theme Reply #27 – 30 August 2025, 10:30:18 As much as I like light themes I find previous dark theme as being the one for Artix forum. It looks very good this light theme and definitely more readable than the dark one. It's good we have this option, tnx @corysanin ✌🏻✌🏻Great job!"Let there be light!" Quote Selected 2 Likes
Re: New forum theme Reply #28 – 31 August 2025, 14:05:54 Found another thing that needs some fixing:The code block section of light variant of this theme, the font colors lack contrast:Especially the grey colour:Code: [Select]"../"There maybe other colours in the code font variables that have not been displayed in the screenshot, that may need changes as well. (Haven't checked the source code.)See at the end of line 6:Code: [Select]"-1" I only noticed the negative/hypen/dash when I had to look closely.Source:https://forum.artixlinux.org/index.php/topic,8626.0.html (wireplumber.log code block) Quote Selected 3 Likes
