QMMP isn't part of World

Good afternoon to you if it's the afternoon,

As far as I understand it from the wiki, arch's extra repo is roughly equivalent to our World repo. QMMP is part of said Arch extra repo but isn't part of the World one for Artix (or any other officially supported one).

The AUR packages only offer 1.x or SVN versions for QMMP. In this case, am I supposed to add the Arch repos to pacman's config? Or should I first give the OmniVerse repo a go? (couldn't find a list of packages from it online)

For now I'll simply use Parole or MPV, but since I'm new here I'd like to adopt good practices. As far as I understand it, the hierarchy of preferred repos to download from is Artix > Omniverse > Arch > AUR?

If that is so, should I remove my few AUR packages (namely brave-browser-bin, mullvad-browser-bin, and python312), instead looking for them in the Omniverse and Arch repos?

Did you install the artix-archlinux-support package?

If so, there is the caveat about using them - https://wiki.artixlinux.org/Main/Repositories

I did not - yet - because I'm trying to understand what source is the "best one" for stuff that isn't available in World/Galaxy. Between the AUR, OmniVerse, and the Arch repos.

Is my "priority order" correct? (Artix > Omniverse > Arch > AUR) or does Arch come before Omniverse? Or something else?

I'm mostly trying to make sure I do stuff the proper way, not installing from one source when another would be the better choice.

You can see the omniverse packages by looking at the repository contents. (No qmmp there.)
Upon seeing this thread, an Artix developer very well might add qmmp into galaxy or omniverse. They're known for such kindness.

Omniverse is certainly more "supported" than Arch's extra, since it is at least maintained by people who use&develop Artix.

If you're hesitant to enable the Arch repositories for a single package, maybe consider downloading the package file and installing it with "pacman -U". (Then you have to remember to update it yourself.)

Thank you a lot, artist! Added Omniverse to my repos and reinstalled brave from it, I guess it takes some time for new packages to be available (I've ran pacman -Syu a few minutes ago) so I'll check this later on :)

Edit : I can now download it, thank you again :)
