Forum back online

We experienced a database corruption, which rendered the forum attachments/avatars inaccessible. Luckily, our hourly backups helped restoring to a point around 12 hours after the problem was diagnosed. Some posts were lost, but surprisingly the world keeps turning.

The Arch forum was offline too, but a different reason was reported there. Also in that thread they mention the AUR being slow or unavailable at times, for some users at least, which has been mentioned on the forum here recently - that was supposedly due to DDOS attacks.

Prior to the forum going down, the forum was attacked by spam, at least two messages  that I saw.

I don't login too frequently but from time to time I keep an eye on this community. I was scare for a while and now I am glad the forum is back.

I also noticed that, some sort of "selling pharmaceuticals" post which i thought was strange. After that it got slow and eventually (i guess) went offline.
