GIMP

Hello,

When I create a mirror effect with GIMP, the copy is not the same size as the original.

Have you  a solution ?  Thank you

I assume you're using the Image/Transform/Flip horizontally function or the Flip tool (Shift + F)?

What do you mean by "the copy is not the same size as the original"?

If you're starting from a JPG image, it's normal for the file exported as a JPG (Ctrl + E) to not be the same size as the original, because the image is recompressed (lossy) during export.

Even with lossless compression like PNG, the compression ratio affects the size of the exported file.

Bonjour,

Effectivement, l'opération de retourner ne respecte pas l'échelle. ( C'est bien dommage.. )

Y a t'il un autre programme permettant de faire un effet mirroir fidèle à l'original ?

Indeed, the operation of returning does not respect the scale. (It's a shame..)

No, the scale is respected, but the compression ratio can be adjusted.

Inkscape is to vectors what Gimp is to raster.

Inkscape est au vectoriel, ce que Gimp est au matriciel.
