Package Requests 11 October 2025, 20:43:14 I was wondering if it is possible to add the following packages to the Artix repositories:Arch Packages:tenacitytermdownpamixerAUR Packages:abookbetterbird-binpfetchthinkfanThose are currently the only packages that I depend on outside of the Artix repositories. A huge thank you to the Devs for providing such a comprehensive list of packages! Quote Selected 2 Likes
Re: Package Requests Reply #1 – 11 October 2025, 21:56:19 Betterbird and pamixer are already in the Omniverse, just a friendly heads up. Quote Selected 1 Likes
Re: Package Requests Reply #2 – 11 October 2025, 22:16:32 Thank you for the heads up. I am aware that betterbird is available in the Omniverse repository. Unfortunately the betterbird package is not as up to date as the package available in the AUR. The Artix wiki also has the following to say about the Omniverse repository: "Note: The omniverse repository is not officially supported..."I thought it would be nice to have these packages added to the Stable repository. Re: Package Requests Reply #3 – 11 October 2025, 23:38:46 Large build packages like browsers and eg betterbird in omniverse are there for a reason; we don't have the build capacity for them all on our supported build servers. Sometimes other popular packages are moved from omniverse to a stable repo, but not very often. And some package are in omniverse because upstream is not willing or able to support them but we still want to offer them to our users with our best effort support.Indeed the omniverse repository is not officially supported but we go to great lengths to provide high quality and up to date packages in there., also to decrease the need for users to install packages from non-Artix repositories. Also, requests for packages to be included in galaxy can be submitted on https://www.reddit.com/r/artixlinux/ :Monthly Artix Linux Package Request ThreadPost your package requests here. Please stick to packages that already exist in Arch's official repos. If you've tried the Arch package in Artix, please say so and report if anything is broken. Check if someone else has requested your package in this thread and if so upvote and/or reply to that comment instead. There is no guarantee your request will get fulfilled.Betterbird might be a few days behind at some time, which is because I test it myself between every few github updates to avoid releasing a version with any blatant bug(s) in it. It is built from source on Artix Linux and accompanied with packages for all available locales.artist Quote Selected 6 Likes

If there was such thing as a subforum on reddit I wouldn't bother with a monthly thread. Plus the people over there would rather lament that packages are missing instead of simply asking for them lolI was surprised that we didn't already have tenacity. Tried adding it but the latest PKGBUILD doesn't work in Artix or even Arch. Got my hands full with other packages experiencing the same symptoms. I make no promises but I'm sure it will arrive in our repos eventually. Quote Selected 2 Likes
