Linux in Mac

I have MacBook Pro and I want to install the Linux in my MacBook Pro. Will it work? Actually, I also asked Apple technical service and they told me it will not be good for the device. Is it true? Kindly guide me.

I think it should run on older models, not sure about the newest ones.
Truth be told i can't see any reason why it wouldn't be good for the device, i have got some generic acer laptop and Artix made me feel like it's a macbook because it's fast, stable, internet is rapid quick, battery lasts for longs time.

Have you tried to install it??

Of course apple reps would tell you that. They don't want you to become free.  :P

Linux works just fine on MacBook Pros unless it's a newer one like cynicfm said since they started locking down hardware then. The only way you can know is just to try it and find out.
