War on systemd??

Through massive use of duckduckgo.com i stopped using windows to also find out that there is something like init system on it but i noticed that when i say to people that i use linux they either have no idea what it is, used to smartphones or windows or they think ubuntu. I have already convinced my friend to use Linux, he had windows 10 on his laptop and i told him that i use linux and was showing him how Artix operates... Month later he installed Ubuntu on his laptop and he showed me how he creates music and sounds on LMMS and claimed that i inspired him to use linux and he says he doesn't have any problems with his laptop anymore however he showed me how much ram memory ubuntu consumes and it was rougly 1,5gb so it was quite a lot...
I also read people on internet that they're very happy with their manjaros/ubuntus/mints but in reality this stuff is bloatware and they also have no idea about something like Artix for example or Devuan let it be... And i also think that there is massive amount of people who have no idea about what linux is and they end up being microsoft customer and use windows only because they have no idea that there is something else to choose...
Few weeks ago i went to computer store to buy SD card and there was some guy with his pc before me and he was saying like windows 10 consumes more resources so he needs to buy more ram and the seller was like yeah yeah i stated i use linux and it uses 400mb ram memory after boot and this guy hasn't even listened to what i said and left the shop but seller was like  :o  :o  :o so that complicates a lot of things because i say i use linux but they have no idea that it is let's say artix with openrc, they will go on google and type linux and go ubuntu or mint..... Should i say i use Artix?? And everybody will be like: what the hell is Artix??? Is i use linux to say OK nowadays, when most of it is systemd?? Maybe it should be i use Artix on my laptop like my smartphone has android??? (Of course i don't uise android ro apple smartphone)
I think stuff like non systemd linux should be installed in schools and children should use it and everybody and learn to use computers using open source only. My uncle's laptop has windows 7 and it is very nice lenovo laptop, looks very candy, but it is extremely slow and everybody says they're ok with it or go buy new windows laptop and put one to waste while i go on artix and everything is so blazing fast, so i wonder what to do to force people use non systemd linux on their computers instead of windows/systemd stuff cuz it's such a pain in the arse to me that lots of people have bloated systems on their computers while i have artix and i wish everybody had it as well ;///...
I have got another friend who has windows 10 but he has cd-romless laptop i am gonna find some pendrive and show him Artix, but what about millions of other people who struggle with bloated software????????

I do not like these type of threads all they promote is Fud make believe, and any other crap you can think of.

Systemd their is nothing wrong with the dam thing it works for Joe Public that is what it was designed for.

I prefer not to use it through choice not by reading total garbage by the i hate brigade.
I don't own a tin-foil-hat and never will.

Just for your information Gnome3 set-up correctly on Arch Linux, systemd start-up with non free drivers 425mb ramstart time to working desktop 6.5 secs

KDE on Artix runit non free drivers  425 ram start time to working desktop 8 secs.

I'm not interested in starting wars I use Artix  its based on Arch its solid works a dream.

Its my choice to also run Arch why I installed the damn thing 15years ago,  because i could it aint broke yet. so why fix a problem that does not need fixing.

Artix again my choice My real wish would be to go back to the simple BSD scripts but runit is a good in between.

Well i am Joe Public cuz i know heck about computers or linux... I had lots of time to look for alternatives of windows 10 and i ended up using Artix (for online stuff) and Obarun (for offline stuff). It's pain for me to see people who spend tons of cash for new laptops/computers with windows 10 preinstalled because their old rigs have low performance on this system that results in polluting the planet very badly + they have no idea about other stuff... And also majority of people nowadays just go on internet on rigs, listen to music or watch movies, i am not talking about proprietary games here or 3rd party clients like steam. They think there is nothing else to choose so they end up using computers with spyware tracking everything they do on it, os that is slow and is also designed to kill the rig after 2 years of usage. Do you think this is right, i think others named Joe Public should be able to experience to what i experience here.
People nowadays don't buy computers because they think windows 10 is the only choice and they say it's slow and garbage so they end up buying google or apple smartphones, however me Joe Public #512312355 discovered power of simple init systems based on linux kernel and i wish other people knew about it too...

Perhaps systemd arch is very lightweigh, but still you are forced to use stuff like pulseaudio...
edit: well actually i am not sure if i had pulseaudio installed on Arch...
So if systemd arch is so lightweigh, then why i decided to choose Artix instead... Still Arch Linux will have google dns set in resolv conf so i don't think this is right... Systemd that forces you to use certain software as well as make you send info about connections you make to corporate google that made 80b$ last year
The reason why i created this topic is i am joe public and go on linux forums and i see people wow great distro amazing while i used manjaro openbox and it doesnt perform so good... ;/

If you think that once you have switched from systemd, you have removed all bloated software, you are totally wrong :)
In some way, all software in almost all distros is bloated because it uses glibc. While one can switch from systemd to other init system is not very painful (but it still requires efforts, especially when doing it from zero), avoiding glibc, gcc and a lot of other bloated software is nearly impossible

I personally think you have got a lot of things mixed up, Linux thrives on pure FUD, outright lies, and anything else it can blame that is fact.
Linux is its own worst enemy it gives to much choice that divides Linux into tiny segments. Joe public lives in a dictatorship we have been brainwashed into believing is the correct way in reality what we think as freedom, is just another walled garden created by the powerful rich dictators nothing more.

Let take Apple and its Mac what is the software its FreeBSD that has been allowed to be made closed source its a walled garden you can't install anything that does not come from app store Ms is trying to do the same.

People that use Mac are brain washed in believing that when Apple says buy new you buy new,.

Then their is Hackintosh that gives non Joe public, the chance to upgrade to the latest software to use free software extend the life of their Mac to install on any Intel machine, and now on AMD machines.

Unix has stood still since the 1970s Linux well its got further but hindered by the so called Unix principles, any new development is slagged to death.

When I started using Linux alsa was the new boy on the block it was hated just like pulseaudio.
What is pulse audio just a compatibility layer nothing more to make audio more acceptable in the post 1990s.

Systemd well i don't like it but its not the evil monster or a cancer as some put it, it does its job.

What it did do was shake up the init world to do things a bit better than in the past.

I for one am very grateful that systemd came along not for systemd but for the number of init managers that have come out of the wood and entered the 21st century.

The problem again is Linux, well Linux devs instead of giving choice the major contenders all jumped on the bandwagon they could of used alternatives to solve problems instead and let systemd just do its intended job but no why waste time when you can get others to do it for you they used the easy option turning Linux into a walled garden.

So now Linux has two walled gardens the systemd way. or the non systemd way both are walled gardens taking away users freedom.

Their is one thing they do not take away the users right to choose.

Just my opinion its probable not acceptable to many users.

There is issue that i am having with glibc. I downloaded plenty of linux games that have .iso or sh installers... When i mount .iso and try to install the certain game using .sh then it reports that glibc 21 is there so the installer is not supported
Code: [Select]
This installation doesn't support glibc-2.1 on x86_64

Yeah well you have got the point. The friend i mentioned from first post that i inspired to switch to linux he feels like ubuntu is enough for him compared to windows 10, he says nothing bad happens there no errors he only mentioned that he misses fl studio a bit that he used in the past to create sounds for music.
I wanted to get macbook in the past, because i was hyped about it but it was all really before i got into linux that much that made me switch completely to it...

I have got friend who took me to apple store in england (to serve as english translator just in case cuz we r both from different country). He bought 2700 pounds one, 15" the best one that was there... He told me that year later he started to have keyboard problems so he returned it under warranty they fixed it for him, lmao... And then his display was breaking he said the cable inside the laptop, that connects display to the keyboard or something was too short  :o .

Anyways my friend who had ubuntu 1500mb ram usage i was thinking omg its so much but he didn't really care... However what is really bad is people keep upgrading their pcs and rigs because their OS slows their rigs down... ;/ . It results in so many computers being threw to waste it's not good...

Well i'm not one of them that is for sure i have a 2004 laptop that is faster than most modern ones because it was built before throttling, the wife has a 2010 notebook.

I use a 2013 self build desktop that will run a few years yet. runs Artix, Arch, and hackintosh. all with a i5 gen4.

The my system boots faster than yours has been going on for years, anybody can do that with just a Xserver. nothing more.

I prefer to use runit Oberun is a simple operating system I introduced Eric to JWM a few years back and gave him my config file he has improved on it as i have since makes a great desktop from a WM. so much you can do with the config and once learned so simple to make changes

By the way I originate from the UK escaped a few years ago the best thing i ever did  was escape from the EU system.

And where did you go??

I originate from Poland, however i have spent 5 years in UK at the moment i am staying in Poland however i don't like it here either... What i would like to see is the number of cars decreasing but it's not gonna happen because more and more people buy cars... 5 seats cars and 80% of them are driven by single person... Less houses and neighbourhoods but it's not gonna happen too... Same thing happening in UK, more and more houses and cars everyday...
I feel like there is no escape from it apart from death... I am fed up with living around people in flats or neighbourhoods like i was in prison, i wish i could live on private island like creator of Google, Larry does...
And last thing is everybody buys smartphones, these cheap chinese crap that cost fortune and breaks after 3 months of usage...  :'(

Okay well i decided to tidy the partitions in the laptop, and installed Arch Linux cuz i have dreamt about it few years ago, about 4... But i had no knowledge how to perform nstallation, now i possess some basic information and i am not system admin or whatever i have been reinstalling linux distros all the time i think, i only don't know why i havent installed artix base openrc instead of arch.

I had internet data on smartphone so usb tethering stuff managed to get arch running installed lxqt and openbox and things are ok, sometimes i get stop job but still this arch with systemd is better than windows 10, and i wanted to escape from win10 to something more lightweigh so i decided i am gonna stay on Arch for a while as i have never used it before ;)
