wpa_supplicant at login issue

Hi to all,

On december i started a topic (Topic: wpa_supplicant spawning nl80211... at login) related to the issue i would like to solve definitly. I could not find on the internet a suitable information that helps me to solve the problem that i am explaining next.
Every time i start my laptop and after i'm prompted to login i see the following:

Code: [Select]
artix login: Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
nl80211: send_and_recv->nl_recvmsgs failed: -33
nl80211: send_and_recv->nl_recvmsgs failed: -33
wlp2s0: SME: Trying to authenticate with...
.
.
.
bgscan simple: Failed to enable signal strenght monitoring

After that, when it connects i am able to login after hiting enter as usual

Code: [Select]
artix login:

I am using network manager.
The laptop boots because networkmanager conects to my wifi, but if not it spawns

Code: [Select]
artix login: Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
nl80211: send_and_recv->nl_recvmsgs failed: -33
nl80211: send_and_recv->nl_recvmsgs failed: -33
nl80211: send_and_recv->nl_recvmsgs failed: -33
nl80211: send_and_recv->nl_recvmsgs failed: -33
nl80211: send_and_recv->nl_recvmsgs failed: -33
nl80211: send_and_recv->nl_recvmsgs failed: -33
.
.
.

indefinitly.
This a real problem because suppose that i am travelling i would not be able to login due to networkmanager being unable to connect to a new wifi network.

I've installed artix runit. Can someone help me with this issue, in order to login properly and that the networkmanager starts after i log in?

Thanks!

Replace by Iwd can be a solution...

The wpa_supplicant utility accepts a -q or -qq flag, which will make it less verbose. See man wpa_supplicant.

I found some pages with this problem on Internet, mostly bugzilla (problem began in 2014).some users helped this solution :

Shouldn't you just be able to switch to a different tty to login? I'm pretty sure the reason for all the messages is just that runit prints to tty1 by default and because its constantly failing, it tries to restart the daemon. That being said, the message happening in and of itself might be an issue.

Interesting. But since i use runit (and Arch wiki explains i guess for systemd), where should i configuere Networkmanager in order to create the configurattion file to enable iwd  backend?
Or if i install iwd and iwd-runit and after that the aur package networkmanager-iwd may it work?

did you search it before you asked ?  8)  try pacman -Ss iwd

Yes i searched, but maybe i have not made a right question. Nevermind, the think is that i installed iwd and iwd-runit. Started the service and made the configuration file to use iwd backend with networkmanger:

Code: [Select]
/etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/wifi_backend.conf
[device]
wifi.backend=iwd

After  reboot this messages appear during reboot:

Code: [Select]

Wiphy phi0 will only usse the default interface
Error bringing interface 3 up: Operation not possible due to RFkill
rfkill id 0 not found in a RFKILL_OP_CHANGE event

After hitting return i get

Code: [Select]
artix login:

and i am able to login.

How can i solve this annoying behavior? I can't find similar issues in the internet.

Hi, i guess there is no solution for the issue. It's a pitty. I am still struggling and can't  find how to resolve the issue. Thanks for your help.

I found the solution just go to
Code: [Select]
/usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/fi.w1.wpa_supplicant1.service

and add -s option to the exec line
or add other suitable options to keep it from logging into the screen
