question about comfort (setting)

can you tell me how to do it so that artix
become as user-friendly as other arch-like distributions?
Well, that is, how to make the distribution kit as comfortable as possible?
  what am i facing? :
i wanted to install SPMplayer and Celluloid, PipeWire-full-pulse
but my terminal says "not found"
maybe you need it like debian? add some repositories?
Is there a way to do this with a terminal? see examples? how to "configure" it?

I was only able to connect yay, but it was also not found says (((
and also, for some reason, when I start typing, let's say - pipewi AND PRESS TAB button similar words do not appear in the terminal (no autocomplete) :((

Is there any way to get more repositories, or "sources", for programs?
  any sources will fit, even "not official", potentially not safe - too
   I still want to install all the necessary software, and it is desirable that it be automatically configured))))
you know, like this:
sudo pacman -S smplayer celluloid pipewire-pulse
press ENTER, and waiting when says << completed >>

its possible??

Might be worth clarifying? I'm new at this! therefore, my questions are very likely - extremely stupid =-=
  I just want to get the latest software(testing-ustable apps), and whatever it is not windows 10, so I chose artix (arch-based)

Greetings...the Artix wiki has detailed instructions about adding extra repos. Specifically you will want to add the Arch Linux repos "Extra" and "Community" as well as the Artix "Universe" repo to find smplayer and yay. You can find the info here: https://wiki.artixlinux.org/Main/Repositories
Artix by design may not be as "user-friendly" as some Arch-derivatives strive to be however.

The Artix wiki, and the Arch wiki (minus the systemd bits of course), are good sources of information.
HTH.

Best regards
We should try to be kind to everyone.....we are all fighting some sort of battle.

thanks
for me it's not such a "problem" that there are no "friendly" settings by default - since you can add them yourself, this is clearly "not really a problem"
I just wanted to try something, without systemd)

I can not understand
how to enable test repositories?
and in general, everyone else?
I copied the file to the config, saved
I tried to update the list, and he "writes" to me the terminal - something is wrong in the repositories
Can someone post the config file here?
that I just replaced the entire pacman config?
in debian it was easier with this ((
just write to the "SID" repository, and then everything works

and here, despite the fact that they gave me a link, I did not understand -_-
   can be "Ready solution?" like ctrl + c ; ctrl + v ?
i want use testing updates, and testing soft

how to make the distribution kit as comfortable as possible?

I have 'octopi' and 'yay' installed
And here are some of my settings for the  /etc/pacman.conf:

Code: [Select]
# Artix

[system]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

[world]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

[galaxy]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

[lib32]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

# Arch

[extra]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-arch

[community]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-arch

[multilib]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-arch

imho, we need to start with this.
In any case, it gives me unspeakable comfort!
i3-3210 / 10GB / VGA Intel HD 2500 / SSD 240GB / Arch Linux / Kernel 6.11 / Openbox / Ungoogled-Chromium

Command sudo pacman -Syyu to update

Posibly you haven't mirrorlist-arch file in /etc/pacman.d/ directory
Here is my file:

What am I doing wrong?" im copy and paste ur <<config>>
:(
https://youtu.be/Nu7DHhOp81c - my screen record, can watch?

i too installed octopi and yay.

It looks to me like when you have copy and pasted x230's config, you didn't copy the actual url for the multilib library (which is weird since it looks like you just used <Ctrl-A>.

So you what you ended up with at the end of your config was.

Code: [Select]
[multilib]

When instead it should be.

Code: [Select]
[multilib]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-arch

Which basically means what is happening is you are telling pacman there is a repository called 'multilib', but you haven't told it where the servers that host it are, so pacman gets confused and aborts the update.

If you want to enable the Arch repos also make sure you have downloaded and installed artix-archlinux-support and lib32-artix-archlinux-support which provides the arch mirrorlist files for you and some dummy systemD files.

Artix-archlinux-support is installed, and lib32-artix-archlinux-support is not installed.

That is my full original /etc/pacman.conf:

# By default, pacman accepts packages signed by keys that its local keyring
# trusts (see pacman-key and its man page), as well as unsigned packages.
SigLevel    = Required DatabaseOptional

# NOTE: You must run `pacman-key --init` before first using pacman; the local

# packagers with `pacman-key --populate artix`.

#
# REPOSITORIES
#   - can be defined here or included from another file
#   - pacman will search repositories in the order defined here
#   - local/custom mirrors can be added here or in separate files
#   - repositories listed first will take precedence when packages
#     have identical names, regardless of version number
#   - URLs will have $repo replaced by the name of the current repo
#   - URLs will have $arch replaced by the name of the architecture
#
# Repository entries are of the format:
#       [repo-name]
#       Server = ServerName
#       Include = IncludePath
#
# The header [repo-name] is crucial - it must be present and
# uncommented to enable the repo.
#

# The gremlins repositories are disabled by default. To enable, uncomment the
# repo name header and Include lines. You can add preferred servers immediately
# after the header, and they will be used before the default mirrors.

# If you want to run 32 bit applications on your x86_64 system,
# enable the lib32 repositories as required here.

# An example of a custom package repository.  See the pacman manpage for
# tips on creating your own repositories.

Oh no I wasn't saying anything is wrong on your end, I meant just from what I saw in the screenshare asdjskasjkdjas posted it looked like when he copied and pasted your config it looked like his editor (for whatever reason) didn't copy the url for the multilib library, i.e. the

Code: [Select]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-arch

part. Which I am pretty sure is provided by artix-archlinux support (and the lib32 version for multilib), although you could probably just copy them from an existing arch install (wouldn't recommend that).
