Enbrace, extend, extinguish (what i meant to say)
 isn't that their way?
now that Lennart has got a shiny new job at MS, will there be an influx to Artix above and beyond normal levels?  (I always thought MS, the land of inefficient coding, would be a good place for Len...)

Nope, no one can "own" systemd, because it's published under LGPLv2.0+ terms. Although it's possible to use its code into proprietary projects, since LGPL is a permissive license.

They can "embrace" and even "extend", but (alas for them) they cannot "extinguish" because of the original license terms.
On the other hand, Linux as a whole would lose very little had systemd been extinguished, lol.

you're totally right VictorBrand, but MS are now the largest single voice of influence and how bad that is depends on your degree of what is seen as popular paranoia.   Not that I personally give a s***, I don't use it anyway, and if i did give a s***, it wouldn't change anything anyway.  8)

In all honesty.
I dislike the commieporations too but just realize how much more leverage in Linux has Amazon with their AWS. Microsoft has became pathetic at even managing their own monopoly, let alone of others.
Also RedHat is now able to basically keep quiet, keep licensing their RHEL, they will actually have a motivation to just do their thing and shut their mouths instead of employing "people" like poettering and being proud about it.

The only thing/person that "owns" systemd is whoever is gatekeeping commits and contribution, a.k.a the project leader.

Other than that, nobody can really "own" systemd as in private property because of its opensource nature.

Not really, since they now have lennart at their pocket, they don't have to do any kind of infiltration.

Actually, you should read Das Kapital, nowhere in this communist manifesto can a criticism on private central banks and usury be found. To the contrary.
Corporations also existed in the Soviet Union and vassals.

Give FB, Google, car manufacturers whatever all follow and spread and ruthlessly enforce "wokism" SJW and gender ideology, the "commieporation" is pretty apt.
The homosexuals replaced the "working class", but it is the very same pattern and control scheme applied.
Klaus Schwab's "scientific" advisor Harari openly states on video that they want to retry communism with the "great reset", because they think they now have the technical means to implement it.

"You will own nothing and will be happy" the WEF say. Oh noes.

they want to but with the sheer amount of mafias we will be at this balance of marxist-corporatist-capitalism until the very end, which is coming soon.
Also they will try a "light"-sided Great Awakening, in parralel with the dark-sided Great Reset. They need to fullfill Apocalypse 13 somehow.
Also, talking about this is a bit of a problem in public, let's close the subject, i didn't want to start the debate with the commieporations thing.

Yes they did, but its different from capitalist countries.

Small individual or family enterprises or cooperatives were allowed to engage in business.

However, all the major and big enterprises were owned by the state, which in turn served the interests of the state, so not exactly "free market" ideal.

The reason the word "commieporations" is an oxymoron was because Hitman was referring to big western capitalist corporations like Amazon and Microsoft, which are wholly incompatible with Communism.

>>Klaus Schwab's "scientific" advisor Harari openly states on video that they want to retry Communism with the "great reset", because they think they now have the technical means to implement it.

Wait, so the WEF is going to implement a classless, moneyless society where everything, including the means of production, are owned by everyone? a literal utopia on earth?

Holy Smokes! Why didn't anyone tell me sooner? World Economic Forum For The Win!

No but seriously, The WEFs Great Reset being branded as *spooky thunder* Communism/Marxism/Socialism, is a conspiracy theory that has no actual ground in reality, because again, if you even have a vague of understanding of Communism, you know that its incompatible with what the WEF is trying to do.

The Great Reset is about maintaining the capitalist status-quo whilst addressing stuff like post-COVID-19 economy and climate change.

Also I couldn't exactly find a clip of Yuval Noah Harari saying they want to retry Communism ( and almost every article of him I came across he is bashing Communism ), so it would be helpful if someone gave me any actual proof.

>>"You will own nothing and will be happy" the WEF say. Oh noes.

"You will own nothing and be happy" means you, the average joe, will own nothing, while they own everything.

Again, if you know anything about Communism, you know that it opposes private property entirely.

Private property still exists here, it's just not in your pocket.

>>Give FB, Google, car manufacturers whatever all follow and spread and ruthlessly enforce "wokism" SJW and gender ideology, the "commieporation" is pretty apt.

1- Progressivism is not Communism.

2- What exactly is "Wokism" and "Gender Ideology"?

>>The homosexuals replaced the "working class", but it is the very same pattern and control scheme applied.

1- Being part of the working class does not have anything to do with your sexuality.

2- What exactly is this “pattern” and “control scheme”?

Among the blind, the one eyed is king it seems.

So you agree with Harari who says humans would be hackable animals?

In one of his nauseating gibberish interviews.
You can't enter "hackable animal harari" in any search engine?
Took me 30 secs.

So here is Harari, telling you, and you support it?

Anyway, I consider this topic closed now, but if you insist, we could discuss Jacques Attali and what he said 2 decades ago.
