request for hyprland

Hi, Can you add hyprland to the repos? Thanks.

this is in AUR.  If you were using full fat Arch, you'd also be installing it from there, so just installing it from there for Artix too would be the logical thing to do.

no.. it will break non-systemd distro. or atleast cause a problem... i love to use alactitty which is not in artix repos and whenever i have installed it in artix. Then something was broken on the system. and the more i use alacritty the more issues were being faced. so no

so, you wish to have a package that you say will break a non-sysd distro, put into an Artix repo?    Good luck with that!

The developers will compile it against systemd. the distro you are using have the same packages designed for systemd. but the developer compiled them for openrc and against systemd. i think you need to learn how linux works. My advice would be to get your hands on Linux from scratch to learn about your system.

no need to be so rude and fundamentally insulting, but hey, guess you know a lot more, so why not compile it yourself and simply drop the arrogance. now had you asked nicely on the other hand...btw, i use additional packages that originally use sysd (they are few and far between in reality) that i've written for that work a treat without it.  Have a lovely day, and with that, i'll stop looking at hyprland.

I notice that only , xorg-wayland dependency requires systemd, But there is package (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xorg-xwayland-rootless-nosystemd-minimal-git) provides xorg-wayland without systemd.
Install first xwayland-rootless-nosystemd-minimal-git , then install hyprland it should not create any issue
Edit: Artix Linux repo also has xorg-xwayland package , it should be used by default
Create problems which don't have solution

yep, that's the first thing i spotted to, wayland.  Pretty obvious really, but what do i know.   lmao.

EDIT: Above requested package successfully built without any dependency breakage when installing from AUR
EDIT2: Alacritty is just terminal emulator , it also not contain any systemd dependency , may be something is else might breaking your system

Sorry I dont trust AUR. Because I dobt know who compiled them and how .. so its a big risk.

The AUR is just a repository of build scripts. You can read their contents, and running them builds the packages on your machine.

Unless you're a psychiatric patient or don't Know How Linux Works™, you surely know who compiled them, and with a minute of skimming the PKGBUILD, how.

just in case anybody wondered, I just installed and indeed used it - it compiles without error, no missing packages or dependencies, jack s*** to do with sysd, but very much a work in progress, as is clearly stated on git and their website.  Not bad for 10 minutes on a lazy sunday afternoon from someone who apparently needs to "learn about your system".  Bless.     8)
