Artix with S6, VS Other Arch and Arch Based Testing and Stability

Hi,
I have been here before sometime ago, but was distro hopping like crazy.

Now my question:
I know Artix initially gets the software when it is released in Arch main repos (the stable and tested, and publicly released).
Does it then goes to Artix testing repos before going to the main Artix repos?

Does it mean that Artix Stable is more tested and more stable than Arch? EndeavourOS?

I am thinking of hopping back to Artix Stable, KDE, S6 init system.
I just want to learn more about testing and stability compared to EndeavourOS (or just Arch).

I will highly appreciate your feedback.

Thanks a lot.

Artix does not perform a substantial amount of testing of packages that are in Arch's testing, but Artix does:
- prevent some issues because of the delay
- build reproduce packages using CI in clean chroot
- use stable init systems, while Arch's systemd has tiem and again proven to be not secure, nor reliable, nor stable.

So the conclusiuon that Artix is more stable that Arch seems warranted, and backed up by my personal years long experience with both.

Thanks @Artist
So, my understanding was correct.
After being in main Arch repos it gets tested a little by Artix then released. This makes it even more stable than Arch.
I know S2 init is the lightest on RAM, bu may I ask which init is considered the most stable?
Is there some sorting?
I want to be sure I will get the best out of Artix.

Just one more question, can I install with BTRFS, Grub, Snapper, grub-btrfs... etc.....
How does Baloo work with this settings? Will have the issue of reindexing snapshots?
Thanks a lot.

All our inits are proven stable. Our servers use OpenRC because it was the first one we supported and most administration scripts are written for it. Most devs use other inits, with excellent feedback. You can install pretty much everything you want, unless you hit something its developer(s) made it hard-dependent on systemd; that being said, Gnome still does run on Artix, regardless.

I recommend that you read this post. The difference in RAM usage is minuscule, it (probably) shouldn't be your top priority.

As for stability, it's very subjective. runit is stable in the sense that, well, it doesn't really get updated anymore (development is complete), so it doesn't get any new breaking changes. OpenRC is being developed by the Gentoo team, and it's more popular, so more documentation is available. Both of these inits withstood the test of time, you don't really get any unexpected behavior with them.
S6 and dinit are kind of new, documentation and support is sparse. Though that doesn't mean that you're going to get crashes and bugs or something, they're still wonderful pieces of software, but runit and OpenRC are rock solid.

But that's only from my experience. Really, if you want a daily driver, you should read the available docs and find some more opinions (a lot of discussions on a similar topic exist on this forum alone)

Thanks a lot @nous and @MaxLPM
Going for artix-plasma-openrc-20230814-x86_64.iso
I believe this will be the most convenient for me.

Anything more about:
- repos (I prefer to stay away from AUR), I prefer stability to anything else.
- BTRFS (see my post above)
- Any other recommendations/suggestions to get the best out of Artix?

I really thank you for all your feedback.

Great question - I was wondering about the inits myself.
I started with OpenRC and moved to runit. Was considering S6 but now that wanting has been curbed (at least for a spell).
