Dell opitplex 7010 does screen is black and not outputting to displayport

Is it because i switched to uefi boot?  That i enabled secure boot?  That i switched dusplay from auto to intel only and now its outputting to vga rather than displayport?

Ugh!

Apparently no.  Its not the display output source to the monitor.  There's no display output at all reported by the monitor on the vga cable

Removing the cmos battery for a few minutes usually  resets the BIOS to default. Check the monitor on another PC and try a different monitor if you have one to see where the problem lies (although be warned if you were really really  unlucky  and it's a fault with one thing that fried the other thing that might be terrible advice  ;D )

I took the battery and the memory out

I took a pic of windows with 32 GB ram working

This happened after adjusting bios

How they send out a refurbished pc with a bios that needs updated... I should have flashed it then maybe this wouldnt be an issue...  Installing windows 10 in legacy mode with no uefi, no tpm, and no secure boot enabled?  Then say if i adjust the bios settings to enable those things and it stops working that that isnt covered under warranty???  I have to pay for return shipping to get a refund....

Yah never again.

Pcs for people is not pcs for artix users apparently

Are you saying it works when booting Windows but not Artix? Then it's nothing to do with a HW issue? Don't think secure boot or TPM works with Linux. Turn them off. If Windows was installed as a BIOS boot rather than UEFI then probably that won't boot if you change it in BIOS so you might need to switch that back too if you are having that problem. There is no real advantage for UEFI over BIOS boot except it supports partitions over 2TB.

Do you have a PC speaker in your rig? If yes, does it beep during the startup and how many times? It seems like a hardware issue.

BTW, if your monitor is not working, how did you get that inxi and neofetch output?

did you see i marked my reply solved for that post?

i had packed it up ready to ship back and just out of desperation i took it out and plugged it in again and it booted.  Elohim blessed me with kindness!

I updated the bios from within windows, upgraded the ram.  added my 2.5 inch drives and reinstalled windows on one with uefi rather than legacy.  I got artix installed under bios boot when i made that post.  This morning i reinstalled with uefi.  Everything is working.  Bizarre.  Grateful.  Still bizarre.  I was ready to cry.
