I'm not sure which package is the cause, but upon updating and restarting, there's just a black screen, however I can change to another tty and undo the update. It''s something in these packages:

The updates messed up two of my Artix systems.  On my standard install (dinit/lxqt), I used ctl-alt-F2 to get to a command prompt and downgraded the following packages to get the system operational again:

kernel & headers
mesa
smbclient
vulkan-headers
vulkan-icd-loader
vulkan-radeon

These same downgrades did not restore my dinit/lxqt system that has turnstile and seatd in place of elogind.

I also had similar problems with the latest updates, they completely broke my vulkan and mesa configuration.

Black screen after update, cannot access console.

Go to another tty (Ctrl + Alt + 1), press enter till you get a login prompt, then login and run update. The issue is fixed already.

I don't run into this exact issue as I'm able to boot, but my wifi, touchscreen, touchpad and sound card are not detected after updating. (runit).

I downgraded a selection of handpicked packages I had in cache, I guess most are superfluous:

Code: [Select]
cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg/
pacman -U audit-4.0.3-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst curl-8.14.0-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst hwdata-0.395-1-any.pkg.tar.zst linux-6.14.9.artix1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst acpi_call-1.2.2-279-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst alsa-card-profiles-1\:1.4.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst automake-1.17-1-any.pkg.tar.zst libusb-1.0.28-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst iputils-20240905-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst pipewire-1\:1.4.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst pipewire-audio-1\:1.4.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst pipewire-session-manager-1\:1.4.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst pipewire-jack-1\:1.4.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst pacman-7.0.0.r6.gc685ae6-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst pipewire-pulse-1\:1.4.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst libpipewire-1\:1.4.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst gpgme-1.24.3-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

This solved my issue for the moment, but a complete upgrade still breaks most of my IO (as off this post's date and time).

Can you add back the pkgs one by one to find the problematic one? Starting with linux.
