I am confused by the video.

They quote Hacker news (without saying so) quoting GrapheneOS (Without sourcing), instead of quoting GrapheneOS directly.

Then they seem to bash GrapheneOS over the quote. The quote is out of context and misleading.

These points seem way more heat than light.

They raised 1M$ to sell a phone that is worse than a pixel for security.

How is there value in this video?

To fully free your phone you can Linux.
As of today is not perfect thought https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Devices.

I do not like GrapheneOS because it makes you use google hardware.
I have no idea if there are backdoors as somebody like to state.

That's not really fair. GrapheneOS will work on any phone that allows third party rom signing. Pixel is the only phone to do that, right?

postmarketos not fully free, right? still have blobs that do whatever they want, right?

Freephone is probably the most open, but does not have rom signing for third parties, which pixel has.
Goggle's pixel is an open source as you can get, and safer, even more with graphene.

I guess the pixel platform is looked at pretty hard, and if there were backdoors, they would probably be known, at least in older generations.

Pixel 8 and above with Graphene, from a hardware pov, AFAIK beat pegaus. Not sure anyone comes close.

Pretty amazing how you manage to completely miss the point made in the video.
Point here, encryption is useless with any AI embedded OS, since it takes screenshots while you encrypt something.
Big brother watches you and reports back to HQ while you think you'd encrypt something, do online banking, write naughty love letters whatever.
Do you get it?

Yup, it was reported in this thread and I actually confirmed safetycore had been silently installed in every single Android phone of friends or colleagues I got my hands on. There are so many things I'd like to say, but I won't "because reasons".

You just can't trust those devices... and think how integrated they have become to so many basic part of communal life.

But, again, not a single GrapheneOS phone had safetycore installed.

I get that encryption can be bypassed as a security feature if the device is compromised.
This is the essence of Whisky Leaks/Signal-Gate, right?

I do not get how this influencer is trading on grapheneOS's good name to spread FUD, is so supported by you.

A grapheneOS device is not subject to the hack in question.

You might want to try to actually listen what Braxman really says in the video.
Your graphene OS issue is a side show, and not the topic at all.

Bottom line, these tracking devices are not you friend, the internet is not your friend, since this is all DARPA tech to utterly full spectrum control and surveil you.

Any mobile device connecting to a cell tower lets the providers already know more about you than you know about yourself just from the metadata such tower connects provide to whoever wants to know about the user of the device.

Point being, in line with WEF/UN announcements, the future currency is your data.
Pay with any such device and you leave metadata, noob buys every monday 6.41 PM a snickers bar at the petrol station.
Next payment and tower registration 8.11 PM etc, subject is now at home. Do you get it now?
In a few years, you won't be able to buy your snickers bar everyday, because AI system tells you payment refusal,
since you already had 7 snickers bars this week, no more, not good for you until next month. 8 snickers bars a week are bad for the climate.

Bottom line, these tracking devices are not you friend,
Such surveillance has been around since credit cards, right?
Honestly, people watch you do things, so it has been around since eyeballs, right?
the internet is not your friend,
Is the internet in the room with us now?
The internet was never about security or privacy, just like walking down the street is not, right?
The internet is no more private than going to a prostitute or buying drugs. Who believes otherwise?
since this is all DARPA tech to utterly full spectrum control and surveil you.
The darpa tech was never about "utterly full spectrum control and surveil", right? it was about redundant communication, which, by definition, is never private.
Visa et. al. have way more info on you a generation before darpa started offering grants to develop the internet.
Any mobile device connecting to a cell tower lets the providers already know more about you than you know about yourself just from the metadata such tower connects provide to whoever wants to know about the user of the device.
But no more data than my neighbor watching me on said phone, or seeing me driving my car right? A fraction of wat banks know about me, right?
Point being, in line with WEF/UN announcements, the future currency is your data.
Um, data is the new oil, but it is not 'currency'. and it is not the 'WEF/UN' saying it... it is literaly anyone that is paying attention. You don't need to go full Q/John Birch/right wing nut job to make the point.
Pay with any such device and you leave metadata, noob buys every monday 6.41 PM a snickers bar at the petrol station.
For a generation before the internet this was true, right?
Next payment and tower registration 8.11 PM etc, subject is now at home. Do you get it now?
Hoover was doing this before your dad was born, right? And he was hardly the first. Yes, if you live in a society people know where you are when you are places. It is called object permanence, right?
In a few years, you won't be able to buy your snickers bar everyday, because AI system tells you payment refusal,
And how is that different than when the CC machine is down, or they don't have snickers?
Life has inconvenient moments.
since you already had 7 snickers bars this week, no more, not good for you until next month. 8 snickers bars a week are bad for the climate.
LOL. when has anything bad for the climate been restricted?
And why would you net be on board with saving your climate? Do you have a spare one?
But even if we accept your crazy, i just pay cash, right? Or get the next girl in line to buy me one?

Like honestly... you are worried about AI blocking snickers bars, not the lawless anti-democratic consolidation of corporate power? or any of a large number of actual real "life and liberty" threatening things?
The following is not a "whataboutism", its a literal issue, contrasting with a literal non issue you seem obsessed with. Hertz rent a car put people in jail because they accused them (falsely) of stealing a car. In the US corporations can literally, legally, put people in jail with no evidence, no habius corpus, go directly to jail.

and you are worried about snickers bars?

If you think the snickers bar is funny, I can replace it with much more fundamental needs such as water, food, electricity.
It will work the same way as with the snickers bar in your 15 minute or freedom city, pick the flavor and color of your total imprisonment.

I consider this conversation done now.
