Compiz - what can we do?

Compiz is small, fast and still looks good for it's age.
Compiz is a compositor which is able of all nice effects for your desktop environment.
If you don´t know now you know...ehm...
It is not in the repo and every time protobuf gets updated there is work to do.
And sometimes compiz ain´t building, like now.
There are two versions and over the years (decades?) I am switching between both, depending which seems more stable for that moment of time.
I would prefer the 0.8 version but the last years, till I switched to Xlibre, the 0.8 was not building.
Now it is vice versa, the 0.9 aint building here...
If there are many secretly hidden compiz fans, now is the time to give a thumbs up, so the devs might see that there is much interest.
It would be great if it would land in the Artix repo.
Sorry, this is just my wish, probably never coming true , which is ok too: so I stay in the flow
What are your thoughts on compiz?
Why is it not widely enough spread that it is featured by Artix?

 I really like Compiz for it's desktop zoom and workspace management. I suspect most people probably
know of it because of the animation effects.

It's not for everyone but I find it worth the hassle.
 
I will continue to install it from the chaotic-aur repo as long as they provide it.

If chaotic-aur drops it, I will switch to aur.

I have a couple Devuan installs with compiz 0.8 but I prefer 0.9 which I use with Artix.

I have an Artix install with Xlibre. Compiz runs fine but if I enable window decorations, Xlibre will crash
when I close a window. This does not happen with Xorg.

compiz-core 0.8.18-5
and
compiz-gtk 0.8.18-5

AUR packages installed here and everything is running very smoothly on two machines.
It is all running so well that I can live with compiz needing some special care from time to time: it is worth it.
If one day, compiz will not work, then I will switch to openbox with Picom.
This is crazy:
fusion-icon is flagged as out of date and it builds, installs and runs here smoothly.
Wondering what the criteria of out of date would be...

I do use compiz-git 0.8 (and it's fracking awesome), but I won't put it in repo 'cause I can't guarantee timely rebuilds.

It is a lil uncomfortable, but I can live with the situation..

I tried wayfire several times and the first time it spiked to 75% cpu usage, second time was around 50% cpu usage and last time was around 40.
I do not want to burn 40% of my real time calculating power just for nothing.
My whole compiz based  setup is idle under 10%.
Wayland will probably never become an option for me.

Well there is kwin but I guess this will soon only be available for wayland, too.
So, practially, there ain't anything else that comes close to Compiz.
